People love being noticed and rewarded for their efforts however this is done with the help of some sort of umbrella. This means that it has to be an association, a group or a consortium of sorts before this can make sense.
Then the parties involved will strive for that award depending on what the package involves. I'm not sure if there is a body recognizing primary schools or secondary schools based on academics or the type of students that have gone through such schools, I'm sure so many schools would wish to be associated with 'best schools category'.
This can be better understood by looking closely at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards or otherwise known as PAM Awards and the number of guests that such an event can attract. Schools was an example but the idea is to look around for some AWARDS you can grab and put to order.
How do you make the money?
In the short run sponsors might not understand them but once well explained, they might see sense in partnering with you depending on how many schools have signed up for the awards.
Schools will have to pay a fee to participate in the awards or to be featured in the whole process, You can also make money off adverts that will be running from the screens that will be showing the proceedings of the events.
Voting using SMS (Short message service in that way you share the revenue from the voting sms between you and the service provider.
Entry fees which you can play around with ranging from First Class, VIP to general happiness bearing in mind that different classes are accorded the treat they deserve.
